STEP 3 - ORGANIZE A HOME OFFICE

My home grants office has areas that assist me in preparing grant proposals and running the business.

·        Desk space, computer, printer and Internet equipment.

·        Different types of lighting.

·        Filing cabinet and shelves for supplies.

·        Books about grants, writing and publishing, nonprofits and business.

·        Erasable wall for proposal planning. 

This erasable wall shows the brainstorming process and timeline for a small federal demonstration grant.

It is tempting to put everything about your grants and/or business in a laptop.

Creating a secure and comfortable space dedicated to preparing grants has helped me to “dig in” and focus on the work.
